why do we write
the art of self-expression, can feel like traversing thru a minefield of a battleground or traipsing thru a serendipitous playground 🛝
you begin with yourself, don't you? if you can't make sense of the chaos in your own skull, how the hell are you supposed to share it with anyone else? thoughts, they're like a swarm of angry bees, buzzing and stinging and filling up every corner of your mind. and talking, it's like trying to catch those bees with a butterfly net 🤦🏻♂️
there's a chasm between thinking and talking, wide as the grand canyon and twice as deep. you need a bridge, something to span that gap. that's where writing comes in, like a rickety rope bridge swaying in the wind. it's not pretty, but it'll get you across if you've got the guts to give it a try.
writing is the key, the secret sauce, the magic potion that turns the jumbled mess in your head into something resembling coherent thought. it's a filter, a sieve, a way to separate the wheat from the chaff. it helps you figure out what's worth saying and what's better left unsaid.
when you write, you're building a roadmap for your thoughts. it's like drawing a treasure map, but instead of gold, you're hunting for clarity. you're charting the treacherous waters of your own mind, marking the dangerous gorges and hidden dangers in this no man's land, between tangled thoughts and coherent speech
it doesn't matter if you're baring your soul to a lover in the dark of night or shouting from the rooftops to anyone who'll listen. writing is the foundation, the bedrock upon which all types of communication is built. it's the difference between stumbling through life like a drunk in a china shop and moving with purpose and grace thru busy crowded streets.
so pick up a pen, fire up your typewriter, swipe at your phone, or crack open that laptop. pour your thoughts onto the page like cheap drink into a dirty glass. let the words flow, let them stumble and trip over each other. it doesn't have to be pretty, it just has to be honest!
writing is the key to unlocking the prison of your own mind. it's the toy that helps you make sense of the senseless, find connections in the chaos. it's the bridge between the cacophony in your head and the words that come out of your mouth.
so write, damn it! write like your life depends on it. because in a way, it does. write to understand yourself, write to connect with others, write to leave your mark on this world
write. because it's the only way to make sense of this beautiful, terrible, magnificent mess we call the playground of life!
